Today is Samhain: the final day of the year and the celebration marking the beginning of winter.
The year now ending has been both long and far too swift, and once again I begin the year ahead with humility, as both student and teacher.
My life as a wanderer on nature’s path came to a halt at the beginning of the year, when nature itself stopped me beneath a great moon shining in the dark sky, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by emptiness. I stood upon the frozen lake with ice all around me, while only the quiet night wind whispered in my ear.
In that moment, I spoke to the Gods and Goddesses. They spoke to me in return and guided me back to my path.
Unenkulkija has completed a full circle in his journeys across the web.
I have travelled from the place where I began, through frustration with the hollow things dragged into view by popular culture, and back again toward what I truly am. I have returned to my roots in the online world—to the place you are reading now.
You have arrived at the renewed website of Unenkulkija.
Both the structure and the appearance of these pages are entirely my own work, and copying them is forbidden. The site is still unfinished as I write this article, but I felt it necessary to publish it as Samhain evening begins.
The journey is long, and the path of a witch who follows a nature religion is never complete. It never truly ends. Every step life offers me is another opportunity to learn more about myself and about the world.
These pages, which will probably be updated only rarely, will offer a brief glimpse into my soul for those who are interested.
I will no longer provide a general discussion board. I will not chatter about my private life or my family, nor will I offer a comment section. Instead, I will remain with the place from which I began:
