A New Wanderer Is Born

As Monday evening fades beneath the beautiful cloak of night, I will reveal something I have kept guarded:

A new member has joined our pack.

On a beautiful, snowy day in November, a new, small, and powerful voice entered the world when my son—now a few weeks old—was born into this world and into its nature.

This tiny and unbelievably gentle little man now fills our family’s life and everyday world.

Having a child was never a simple or certain matter for me. I thought about this little child for a long time before I was even willing to begin trying to bring another life into the world.

I have seen both the good and the twisted sides of the modern world. I have seen how far money and opportunity can carry a person. I have worked internationally in business, and I have also seen the darker side of the world from which many people are spared throughout their lives.

For that reason, the decision to bring a child into this world took years of thought.

When I was finally ready as a human being, my wife and I decided to try for a son, with the blessing of the Gods and Goddesses. Within a couple of weeks, she was pregnant.

A small, sweet, and healthy boy was born on the day the first true snow fell upon the earth.

Our son was in no particular hurry to be born and remained in his mother’s womb beyond his expected time.

Several months earlier, I had already predicted when he would arrive: on the day a proper snowfall covered the ground, our child would be born.

When my wife and I saw the first heavy snow falling that evening, covering the black earth, we knew our son would be born the following day.

And so it happened.

The birth of our sweet boy began early the next morning.

I am grateful to the Goddesses and Gods for the blessing I have received: a healthy child who is already remarkably developed and intelligent for his age.

He is our second child, and should this little man grow to be as clever as his older sister, wisdom and careful thought will carry him far in life.

I have promised nature that I will teach him to respect life and all its many forms. And when the time comes, I hope he will walk in his father’s footsteps along the path of Traditional Nature Witchcraft.

He has a good and safe circle around him, one that will teach him to act wisely in life and in the choices he makes.

The most important thing I intend to teach him, just as I have taught my daughter, is always to remember to respect life and nature.

For if you do not respect them, they will not respect you.
